A super nice ice cream sundae on the 4th of July!
I have been busy the last few days, but I have continued posting new food blog entries. I posted two nice 4th of July recipes for the holiday weekend. It was more important to post those holiday recipes, than it was to write this restaurant review. I spent the evening of the 4th waiting for a fireworks show that was cancelled due to foul weather earlier in the day. I never got the news that the fireworks were cancelled, but I did take some nice pictures of the Las Vegas strip at night. My trip to Death Valley on July 5th really left me drained, so articles that were on the back burner had to be left in a holding pattern. Now I am playing catch up in a big way. I have over 20 recent food blog articles to write. Good thing I never seem to get writer's block! Serendipity3 is world famous. All the stars of Las Vegas go there for Ice cream sundaes! Serendipity originated New York City. Serendipity3 is located at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Serendipity is not in the main building at Caesars. It literally overlooks the Strip! There is never a dull moment when seeing the view of the world's busiest intersection at Flamingo and the Strip. This is also people watching central! Serendipity3 offers a full menu of great food that is served with astonishing modern presentations. Multi tiered plates and hamburger buns that glisten like polished gems are amazing to look at! There is no shortage of creativity at Serendipity3. An ice cream sundae is a traditional 4th of July event for me. Serendipity3 offers some of the finest creative sundaes that there is. Serendipity also holds the record for the most expensive ice cream sundae. There is so much edible pure gold foil on the high dollar sundae that the price is $1,000.00! I chose a much more modest priced sundae at Serendipity3 than the thousand dollar sundae. There were sundaes for two and four guests on the menu. The huge ultimate banana split on the menu is everybody's favorite. I chose to try the "Can't Say No" Sundae! The "Can't Say No" is a combination of Humble Pie (peanut butter pie), vanilla ice cream, coffee ice cream, banana, hot fudge, peanuts and whipped cream. Of course it has a cherry on top! This was one huge sundae that was fitting for a summer holiday! I hit the sundae wall with only a few bite left in the bowl, but I sure did get my money's worth of "Can't Say No" Sundae! A good ice cream sundae is unbeatable in the summertime. The weather was overcast with clouds and drizzling rain on July 4th. A sundae can bring sunshine to a cloudy day. That is exactly what happened! After eating the "Can't Say No" Sundae, the sun came out and the clouds disappeared! Good old magical Las Vegas! I highly recommend Serendipity3 at Caesars Palace for anyone that seek creative modern food and great ice cream sundaes! Just forget about counting calories, because walking on the Las Vegas Strip is a great way to burn them off. I sure had to do a lot of walking to make up for the caloric intake from that big sundae at Serendipity, but it was worth it! So yummy! ... Shawna
