What is a Las Vegas style candy shop? A Las Vegas candy shop is not the kind of candy shop that you will find in small town America or the bible belt! Even though Las Vegas has the highest per capita ratio of churches in America, freedom to express one's self and to create a one of a kind business image is never shunned upon in Las Vegas. This is a town where business owners can truly let it all hang out when presenting a theme for a store! "Lick-What Color Is Your Tongue?" is a good example of how a good business idea can be successful if the business is located at a place where the demographics point toward a positive return on investment. A risque fun candy shop must be located in a risque fun town! The Monte Carlo Casino Resort is one of the MGM Grand properties on the Las Vegas Strip. The Monte Carlo has always been a popular casino for visitors of Las Vegas and the locals. Elegant casual is a good description of the Monte Carlo Casino style. The 8.5 billion dollar City Center resort and casino complex by MGM Grand opened next to the Monte Carlo a couple years ago. I flew from my job in Chicago back home to Las Vegas for a short vacation and I attended the grand opening week of the Aria Casino Resort in City Center. At that moment, looking at the Monte Carlo next door, I wondered how the impact of City Center would affect the Monte Carlo. During visits home to Las Vegas during the following year, I noticed a new developing trend. Many visitors of Las Vegas were choosing to stay at the comfortable classic Monte Carlo Casino Resort and then visit, gamble and shop at the modern new City Center next door. The modest prices of the Monte Carlo were a great value at that time, because America was suffering from a harsh economic recession. Smart gamblers and shoppers seek value for their money spent! With the new found source of income, the Monte Carlo got a shot in the arm! The Monte Carlo managed its own resources in a positive way and the resort did not fall into the trap of becoming a relic of the past! The Monte Carlo attracted new exciting clubs, retail shops, cutting edge restauranteurs and great chefs. The positive income and cash flow from the convenience of City Center's location next to the Monte Carlo was the prime attraction for business owners and entrepreneurs to venture into establishing shops in the Monte Carlo. Not only was it a smart business move, it was an opportunity to present new creative business ideas in a friendly environment. "Lick-What Color Is Your Tongue?" found a niche! "Lick-What Color Is Your Tongue?" markets their wares to shoppers who seek fun exciting candy items. Bizarre candy creations can be found at Lick! Risque adult candies can be found at Lick! Stoner candies can be found at Lick! Zombie candies can be found at Lick! Collectible Candies can be found at Lick! Some of the weirdest strange fun candy that there is on earth can be found in the Lick candy shop. I purchased a small collection of bizarre candy items during my visit at "Lick-What Color Is Your Tongue?" The items that I purchased are shown in the photos above. The items that I chose were not nearly the most bizarre candies in the store, but they do present an idea of what Lick is all about. "Lick-What Color Is Your Tongue?" offers collectable T-Shirts and memorabilia of all kinds. Lick also has collections of prized classic candies of the past that are hard to find. The adult candy collection offers risque adult candies for any sexual lifestyle. Las vegas theme candies and gambling theme candies are also offered. While shopping at "Lick-What Color Is Your Tongue?", I could not help but to smile from ear to ear. I felt like a kid in a candy store! In fact, I was a kid in a candy store! When a candy store is geared for adults, it brings the kid inside right back to the surface. I had a very nice evening of wining and dining at the Monte Carlo. Dinner at Diablo's Cantina, a gourmet cupcake for dessert at the Cupcakery and a bag of assorted candy from "Lick-What Color Is Your Tongue?" I highly recommend "Lick-What Color Is Your Tongue?" for visitors of Las Vegas and locals alike! This is a one of a kind candy store that offers what people really want. Good fun candy!
